I love the feeling of hard work, and accomplishment.
Effort does pay off.
Even the little things in life are worth trying and putting real effort into.
It definitely makes living life to your best potential worth it =)
Three more finals to gooo...

Yesterday Ry and I spent EIGHT hours at a marriage preparation workshop, and it went well. We already knew most of the information since we took a marriage psychology class last year, so we were ahead of the game =) I'm so excited to begin our new home together! In class we had to think of a close coupe we knew who is always affectionate, close and intimate and all we could think of was US. Paul and Jess are right with us though, they are the adorable. Also, in class we had a terrible laugh attack cause Ryan did this cute hick-up, burp noise when he was sipping his soda and when I looked over to give him the eye to be quiet, he looked like a little puppy when he sneezes. It was all over then, laughing on and off for about 15 minutes. Oh jeez...

Bonfires
I'm in love with this song and video. I can listen to it all night. I just really want to go to the beach right now and sit on the life guard house like we did the night he proposed<3

Good advice from good ole Buddah:
"Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment."
When I set my mind in this way of thinking and living, I realize how I am much more content with everything. Like for instance, I'm spending some good time concentrating on studying for my art history test, and it's A LOT of information. Instead of worrying about remembering all of the facts for the test/essay, I am just learning and enjoying it. It's fun enjoying the simplicity of life. =)

This is a quote I would like to share.
When I was visiting in Seattle, WA back in January, Ryan and I went to Starbucks and ordered our usual hot cup of chai. You know how on every cup is a quote from some random customer? I always enjoy reading them and this one in particular touched me in the relationship I am lucky to say I am in and the person I am striving to become in my every day to day life.
The Way I See It #76
The irony of commitment is that it's deeply liberating-
in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic,
from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation.
To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life.
-Anne Morris
Of course you have to use your head (logic) but I believe it is a balance of the heart and head.
Basically, don't be afraid to commit yourself. Whether it be to a job, a friend, a particular major, a missions trip, a church, a community, to a loved one, or to yourself. Just trust.

I have a confession...
I just ate chocolate chip cookies!
...i gave up junk foods in general for lent, even the little things like jelly beans and what not, BUT I broke down when my sister had cookies right in front of me with a cold glass of milk. I was doing so well. I seriously think my body is allergic to crap foods.
On a happy note, ryan and I had our food tasting yesterday and it was fun! Yay for a free three course dinner! My sister and I decided we are going to act like we are both getting married and hit up all the food tastings. Yup, that's our plan.

Ryan just made us the most amazing hot chocolate ever =D
This week has been really good, minus the few down falls, but that's life after all.
Ryan and I had the chance to talk to our English teacher the other day in her little cute cozy office. She was helping editing our papers, but then we got off topic with the the whole wedding planning and traveling. She is such a cool teacher. She went to Berkeley, an awesome school, and traveled abroad in England for an entire year! Ahhh, so exciting... ry and I told her of what we want to and she was like "DO ALL OF IT, DO IT ALL". haha.
I'm going to take that advice to heart, I mean we only live once.
movie/snuggle/cocoa time now

18 Random Rules of Life worth posting on your mirror by Michael Josephson:
1. Find the lesson in every failure, and you'll never fail.
2. The likelihood you're right is not increased by the intensity of your conviction.
3. Real friends help you feel worthy and make you want to be better.
4. When you're in a hole, stop digging.
5. Don't confuse fun with fulfillment, or pleasure with happiness.
6. Refusing to let go of a grudge is refusing to use the key that will set you free.
7. Hating hurts you more than the person you hate.
8. Counting on luck is counting on random chance; your odds are much better when you plan and work.
9. It's better to be kind than clever.
10. Don't underestimate the power of persistence.
11. The easy way is rarely the best way.
12. It's much easier to burst someone else's bubble than blow up your own.
13. You can't avoid pain, but you can avoid suffering.
14. Self-pity is a losing strategy; it repels others and weakens you.
15. Short cuts usually produce short success.
16. Control your attitude or it will control you.
17. It's more important to be significant than successful.
18. The world is waiting for you to heal it.
These are all so good and wise that I felt it worth the time to type them all out individually, implanting them in my head so that I can live by them.
For my Brit Lit class we just finished the lovely 1818 edition of Frankenstein. I loved it, even more than the last time I read it in High School. The gothic elements are genius for her time. Now I just have to write an essay, which will actually be fun to write.

Bonjour
Hmm, I have not been very consistent with this blog. At all. Haha. It's probably due to those really cool journals I bought a few months ago at Borders that hev been absorbing all my thoughts. They were not cheap, but definitely worth it. I love how they fit pefectly in my lap when I write. And the unique covers are pretty cool. The one I'm currently using has colorful pictures of robots all over it. And since lately, the human mind has been interesting me greatly, it's kinda like my theme for the year: to think for myself (ourselves).
For awhile I thought that blogging was kinda creepy. Just thinking of all the random people drunk with boredom browsing through my thoughts. But then I figured that blogging is an interesting way to get to know people. I personally love learning and meeting new people, so when I browse through their blogs I realize of alike, how normal and human we all our. Hearing about other people's lives also inspires random novel scenes I make up in my head, creating new ideas and personalities as characters. I just know that someone out there, who is feeling a bit down or someone who is dealing with a similar situation as me, happens to read something on here and it relates to them and helps make them to not feel alone, or answers a question, this journal will not be a waste of cyber space. I think that more people should join the blog world.
Chao for now, off to see Bride Wars out in westlake
(maybe I'll get some wedding tips, since I'm a future bride this summer! Maybe something like don't dye your hair blue. or maybe orange skin isn't all attractive witha white dress....=)
